Roger de Valerio (1886-1951) was a renowned French artist and graphic designer, known for his contributions to the Art Deco movement. Throughout his career, he created numerous illustrations for sheet music covers and advertising posters for major companies, including Citroën, Chrysler, and Air France. One of his most famous works is the "Air France, Paris-London" advertising poster, created in 1938. The image depicts a twin-engine aircraft seen from above, flying over the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, which stretches across the English Channel, connecting the simplified coastlines of France and England. The design emphasizes the speed and efficiency of air travel between the two capitals, highlighting the 75-minute flight duration.
