Godzilla, King of the Monsters! (1956). This isn't the original Japanese film, but an Americanized version that incorporates new footage with Raymond Burr as Steve Martin, an American reporter who witnesses Godzilla's attack on Tokyo.
It was directed by Ishirō Honda (with the American scenes directed by Terry O. Morse) and released on April 27, 1956. Besides Burr, it also stars Takashi Shimura, Momoko Kōchi, and Akira Takarada, though they were all part of the original Japanese film, Gojira (1954). While it wasn't nominated for any major awards, this version of Godzilla introduced the iconic monster to North American audiences and became a cult classic.
