"Gone with the Wind" is a sweeping 1939 American epic historical romance film adapted from Margaret Mitchell's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Directed by Victor Fleming (who took over from George Cukor and Sam Wood during production), the film stars Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara, Clark Gable as Rhett Butler, Leslie Howard as Ashley Wilkes, and Olivia de Havilland as Melanie Hamilton.
