The Dream (Le Rêve, 1910) by Henri Rousseau is a large-scale oil on canvas and one of his final masterpieces. The painting depicts a reclining nude woman resting on a sofa set improbably within a dense, fantastical jungle. Surrounding her are exotic plants, wild animals, and a mysterious snake charmer partially hidden in the foliage.
