Bullitt is a 1968 American neo-noir action thriller film directed by Peter Yates. It stars Steve McQueen as Frank Bullitt, a San Francisco police lieutenant who investigates the death of a mob informant he was assigned to protect. The film also stars Robert Vaughn, Jacqueline Bisset, Don Gordon, Robert Duvall, and Simon Oakland. Bullitt was released in the United States on October 17, 1968.
The film is famous for its innovative and exciting car chase scene through the streets of San Francisco, which is considered one of the most influential in cinematic history.
