"On the Waterfront" is a 1954 American crime drama film directed by Elia Kazan. The film stars Marlon Brando, Karl Malden, and Eva Marie Saint. It was released in the United States on July 28, 1954.
The film won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor for Brando. It was also nominated for four Golden Globe Awards, winning two, and was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 1954 Cannes Film Festival.
