The Seven Year Itch is a 1955 American romantic comedy film directed by Billy Wilder, based on the play of the same name. The film stars Tom Ewell as Richard Sherman, a middle-aged man whose wife and son are away for the summer, and Marilyn Monroe as the beautiful young woman who moves into the apartment above him. The film explores themes of temptation, infidelity, and the anxieties of middle-aged men.  

The Seven Year Itch was a critical and commercial success, and it remains a popular film today. It is known for its witty dialogue, memorable performances, and iconic scenes, such as the one where Monroe's white dress is blown up by a subway grate. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actress for Marilyn Monroe, but it did not win any awards.
