The Wild Bunch is a 1969 American Western film directed by Sam Peckinpah, known for its graphic violence and revisionist take on the genre. Set in 1913, it follows an aging outlaw gang on the Texas-Mexico border, led by Pike Bishop (William Holden), as they try to adapt to a changing world. The film also stars Ernest Borgnine, Robert Ryan, Edmond O'Brien, Ben Johnson, and Warren Oates. The Wild Bunch was released in the United States on June 18, 1969.
The film was controversial upon its release due to its violence, but it was also a critical and commercial success.
