Released in the United States on August 25, 1939, "The Wizard of Oz" is widely considered one of the greatest films in cinema history. Though Victor Fleming is the credited director, its production was a collaborative effort, with King Vidor and George Cukor also contributing. Starring Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr, and Jack Haley, the film follows Dorothy Gale's journey through the magical land of Oz.
